Ironart at the Eden Project

We’re thrilled to tell you that the beautiful flower arch that we made last year for RHS Malvern is now on loan to the Eden Project in Cornwall. Andy and his daughter Emily drove down to Eden at the weekend and installed the arch outside the Meditereanean biome where it looks just the job.

The asymmetric organic floral arch structure was based on some contemporary trellis posts that Andy designed for a private roof garden in London. The large galvanized flower arch has been much admired since it was made; as well as spending a week at Malvern (where it won Ironart a Silver Gilt medal) it was also featured on Alan Titchmarsh’s TV series Love Your Garden. We’re all really excited that it’s now on public display at the Eden project and will be seen and enjoyed by a huge number of people. The chance to showcase our work in this way is great publicity for Ironart – a small business in the West Country with big ideas! The arch is a wonderful example of the artistry and skills that abound here in the Ironart team, and all credit goes to artist blacksmith Jim Purry who made it. We blogged about Jim making the arch last year – heres the link.

If you would like to commission something really unusual for your garden and have an idea in mind, please pick up the phone and give us a call because we relish this type of creative project and would love to help.
