In 2012 we designed and created a decorative floral arch for the Eden Project in Cornwall. We were approached this year by 3 sisters who wanted to give their mum a unique present for a special birthday. They were inspired by the arch that we had created for the Eden project and commissioned us to create a similar one for their mum. Cecily Robinson has worked on this lovely arch over the summer. It has just been installed and is looking glorious! Talking with Cecily about working on the arch she mentioned the challenges of creating consistent tapers from 40mm round bar at the bottom through to a point at the top. She also enjoyed the contrast of working with solid uprights that form the main structure of the arch alongside creating the fine flowery details that adorn the arch from top to bottom! See here the original arch at the Eden Project and the newly created arch installed in situ. A few weeks ago we made and installed this simple, elegant garden gazebo structure in a private garden in Farmborough near Bath. This unique and unusual structure was designed to support four trees and form the focal point for a terrace in front of the house.
The intention is that the immature trees will be trained to follow the curves of each corner so that the entire piece will form an arbour, covered in foliage over time. The gazebo has been left unpainted in it’s galvanized finish, which will weather from silver to a matt grey patina. Martin and Andy made up a small scale model for the client to approve prior to making the finished piece (pictured). As soon as Spring appears we always see a dramatic increase in demand for our hand made garden furniture and garden structures, and this year has been no different. The workshop is a hive of activity with the team jigging and forging benches, chairs, tables, arches, gazebos and garden braziers. If you’re looking for the best quality garden furniture that money can buy… look no further. We have a range of furniture styles and garden products available on our website – lead time varies but is usually 4-6 weeks on these pieces. All our products are galvanized to give them maximum protection against rust corrosion. Pics below show the team at work making a batch of Lansdown furniture for a client in Hertforshire.
